Att Apple vill använda sitt iOS i allt fler produkter är inget främmande men att använda det i en iMac har känts lite konstigt men nu har Apple kommit på en lösning och patenterat den.
Om denna produkt blir verklighet så kommer din iMac att fungera som vanligt i upprätt läge. Men när skärmen roteras ner och kommer närmare dig i en bra vinkel så byter den sömlöst från OS X till iOS.
- While most of us were getting ready for the iPad’s arrival in January and Patently Apple hard at work preparing our major series called the Tablet Prophecies, a major iMac Touch patent was being quietly published in Europe.
First, Apple’s patent describes the transition process this way. When the iMac’s display is oriented upright and relatively far from you – the keyboard/mouse input mode could be selected and basically you’re operating in OS X mode.
Then to switch to a touch-based input, you’ll change the orientation of the iMac’s display so as to make touching the screen easier and more natural. For example, to enter touch input, you’ll want to pull the iMac’s screen closer to you while pushing the display screen down flat as if you were going to read a book, states the patent. In this orientation you’ll be able to select a corresponding UI which should translate to using iOS. In fact, the transition is really an automated process.
Verkligen spännande att kunna använda sina händer när detta känns bäst och mus/tangentbord när detta fungerar bäst.

Appen Podcaster som gör det enklare att lyssna och följa podcasts i din iPhone har kommit i en ny version. Bland annat är gränssnittet uppdaterat för att likna iPod-appen istället för som tidigare då det faktiskt inte såg så snyggt ut.
Några buggar som gjorde att den ibland slutade svara på hörlurarnas fjärrkontroll är också åtgärdade. Stöd för iOS 4 och lyssning i bakgrunden har den stöd för sedan tidigare.

Saknar du funktionen att kunna klippa ut en fil och klistra in den i en annan mapp så finns lösningen i form av moveAddict till Snow Leopard. Findern saknar ju som bekant denna funktion så man är begränsad till att flytta filer genom att dra den mellan två mappar eller kopiera, klistra in för att sedan ta bort filen från dess gamla plats.
Med moveAddict får man denna funktionalitet samt en del extra godis. Programmet kostar $4.99 för full funktionalitet men det finns en gratisversion som begränsar funktionen till en fil i taget. Kolla in videon nedan.

How it works:

Via Patently Apple kommer här ett intressant patent från Apple som tyder på att de funderar på att sätta in tryckkänsliga skärmar i sin MacBooks.

Riktigt snygg hållare till iPad med utseendet från Apple:s skärmar gör att den verkligen inte skäms för sig på skrivbordet. Eftersom hållaren går att plocka isär verkar det vara en smidig lösning på resan. Sätt ihop hållaren och plocka fram Bluetooth-tangentbordet och du har en liten arbetsstation.
Foten är i aluminium medans själva ramen är i plast. Hålet i foten gör det enkelt att snyggt dra fram laddkabeln. Ramen kan roteras fritt medans själva lutningen regleras i tre olika lägen. Tyvärr fungerar infästningen bara om du använder din iPad utan skal.

Hittade detta program via Cult of Mac som verkar vara en lösning för er som behöver spela upp en mängd olika filformat för video eller ljud på er iPhone eller iPad.
Som sagt så klarar det mängder av format men det finns en del begränsningar vad gäller hårdvarukrav och i vilken upplösning de får vara. En version för iPhone 4 är på väg som ska klara HD-upplösningar.
Jag har själv inte testat detta program så jag förslår att ni läser vad tillverkaren skriver om programmen i iTunes innan ni bestämmer er om det är något för er. Lite-varianter finns också om man är osäker.

Color Stream genererar färgkombinationer utifrån fotografier för att använda när man designar. Du kan göra det från ett befintligt foto eller ta ett direkt med kameran. Du kan spara flera av dessa paletter och betygsätta för framtida bruk. Så behöver du ett program som skapar färgkartor snabbt och smidigt så ska du absolut kolla Color Stream.
